It seems unreasonable in the natural to rejoice before you receive God’s provision, but in God’s Kingdom it is perfectly reasonable because He is faithful, always faithful and the ONLY way to release His Kingdom provision is by Faith. Since faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen, your shout for Joy before the promise is seen is proof that it is coming!!!

In Isaiah 54:1-3 we read "'Shout for joy, O barren one, you who have borne no child;Break forth into joyful shouting and cry aloud, you who have not travailed; For the sons of the desolate one will be more numerous Than the sons of the married woman,' says the Lord. 2 'Enlarge the place of your tent; Stretch out the curtains of your dwellings, spare not; Lengthen your cords And strengthen your pegs. 3 For you will spread abroad to the right and to the left. And your descendants will possess nations And will resettle the desolate cities.'"
This passage is speaking to anyone who barren of something. Whether literally barren with no child, or barren of finances, in need of healing or a home. It calls us to an act of faith by rejoicing while still barren while still without the thing we lack. Then it calls to make room for what is coming.
The Lord says to "Enlarge the place of your tent; Stretch out the curtains of your dwellings, spare not; Lengthen your cords And strengthen your pegs." If you live in a one bedroom tent or home you need to expand it. make room for the baby that is coming. If you need more provision, make plans for how you are going to steward it before it comes. If you need healing get ready for it.
Lastly, the passage says that "you will spread abroad to the right and to the left. And your descendants will possess nations And will resettle the desolate cities." That is the true Kingdom of God call. Discipling nations and creating Kingdom atmosphere in cities where the presence of God is desolate, or not evident.
Remember Michal David’s wife was in the palace while all the rest of Israel was gathered around outside to receive the ark of the covenant that David was bringing back. David was dancing with all his might, not wearing his normal kingly garb, David wa actually wearing priestly garments, a linen with an ephod (something that probably looked like a nice tunic, the ephod being a scarf like garments over his shoulder/s,) . She despised David in her heart and she became barren. If she had rejoiced and joined in the celebration she would not have.
An interesting side note is that Michal says to David "How the king of Israel distinguished himself today! He uncovered himself today in the eyes of his servants’ maids as one of the foolish ones shamelessly uncovers himself!” I had always been taught that she was saying that David was stripped down to his undergarments. But that is not at all what she is referring to. She first sarcastically says that David acted distinguished, implying that she really thought he acted in an undistinguished fashion, when she says that David "uncovered himself" and later states that he "shamelessly uncovered himself." She is using the Hebrew word "Galah" that is translated uncovered, but literally means "to be carried away" or "to be taken captive." It can also be translated "stripped" as well.
Since we know David was wearing clothes, it was more a matter that David got so carried away in his praising and rejoicing of God, so captivated by God's presence and goodness, the he looked like a crazy person. He was not acting dignified or kingly he was acting madly in love with his God. Michal was probably jealous of David's wholehearted abandonment to the Lord, or embarrassed that David did not act like she thought a king should act. Enough on that.
When we truly believe God’s word, and rejoice before the answer comes, we demonstrate to Him that we are a people of faith who are ready to transform nations. He will give us the nations to possess. When we become a rejoicing, joyful people walking in His peace, resting in His promise of provision for all things then we become the kind of people God can entrust to change cities and nations. How can God trust us to handle influencing a city if we cannot even believe Him for our own needs.
